BA>Which is fine. If he was in for 65 days then he finished basic training, BA>to claim he did not is factually incorrect. Otto stated that he either fell down, or was pushed down a set of steps in the barracks, and broke his ankle. I find it hard to believe that anyone with a broken ankle would continue basic training without a stay of several weeks in the base hospital. Not even the Air Force would have someone marching along in formation, or in close order drill (do they have such a thing in the Air Force?), on a pair of crutches. Otto further stated that the Air Force offered him a choice of continuing, or taking a discharge. He also stated that the Air Force offered him a large sum of money so he wouldn't sue over his injury. He stated (now get this!) that he was "....offered a lot of money to sign a form so that I wouldn't sue, ...." ....Otto Sauer He also stated that "....had I not been so homesick, and fed up with the bullshit I was going through in the USAF,..." ....Otto Sauer You have a total of 65 days *in* service. Subtracting 42 days from 65 leaves 23 days. You need a few weeks in the base hospital for the ankle to heal, several days to `process out'. No time to make it to the tech school, which at the time he was in was at Lowrey in Colorado. And........after dancing us around with this A-10 Warthog bullshit for a couple of years, he comes up with *this* little exchange: Wilson was asking about Wisconsin; "Ever live anywhere else?" ........J Wilson "Briefly in Texas." ........Otto Sauer No mention of Colorado. Otto let the truth out (un-intentionally, no doubt!). Now I'm going to tell you why all this crap got started in the first place. Several years back......Otto belittled Richard Helm over Helm being in the Marine Corp. Otto isn't qualified to wipe Richard Helm's boots. Otto made the claim that he had contacted a Marine recruiter in Sheboygan, had given them Richard's name, the recruiter checked Richard's marine record out and told Otto Richard had gotten a dishonorable discharge! You and I both know that cannot possibly be true. That is a baldfaced lie. No Marine ( or any other branch of military service) in a position to check records, recruiter or otherwise, would even discuss such a thing with some civilian who just walked in off the street and made such a request. (I know this of personal knowledge, as I have talked to Marine and Navy recruiters on that very subject since, and was told no such thing is possible!) Up to that point, over the years of reading some of the things Otto posted about his military service, I had gotten the impression he was retired from the Air Force or something. I once asked him if he was retired from the Air Force and he said no, he'd gotten injured and had gotten a medical discharge. Then up came this crapola with Richard being dishonorably discharged.....and in the course of that thread, Otto put his DD214 up on his web page, followed by this little gem: "I was in for TWO MONTHS!" .........Otto Sauer Sauer is a liar and military wanna-be. You degrade yourself and your own military service by defending such a person. --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 SEEN-BY: 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/260 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
