On 12 Dec 2003, Thom LaCosta wrote to Ward Dossche: TL> Aside from your threatening Z2 RCs, you've certainly taken steps to TL> convince the RCs they should participate. I'd like to move on from the subject of Ward's threats now. I was asked to join this echo by a couple of Zone 2 people (neither of whom was Ward) and I simply set out my position as soon as I joined. Maybe I shouldn't have done so but the intention was simply to send a strong signal to Zone 2 folks that this was not to be regarded as any weakening on my part to what I thought was a threat to my democratic right to withhold my vote if I felt it right to do so. Further discussion, or simply references to it, here are counter-productive. My differences with Ward have to be sorted out privately - and they will be. While I believe that Ward has gone too far in this instance, I do believe that he has the interests of the Fidonet at heart. We all make mistakes, me included, but that doesn't make any of us completely bad. I believe that Ward *is* trying to be a facilitator, not a dictator. I would like to see discussion of the proposed changes rather than us sniping at one another about who said what or who meant what. The Fidonet requires a great deal of patience and understanding simply because people don't always express themselves too well, and this echo is no different to any other. There is a great deal of negativity here at the moment, and I can understand why. However, there are more RCs here than at any other time and this in itself is a cause for positive thinking. But if we all continue to behave like Eeyore then we are going to lose our window of opportunity. Please, folks, don't let that happen. Remember, THINK POSITIVE! Policy CAN BE CHANGED! (and that wasn't shouting!) ;-) Now then, don't reply to this message. Let's just get on with the business in hand.
