it's easier to join a fido-style network. Everything is designed for 
fido-style.. mailers, tossers, maximus.. QWK is a quick n dirty way to do it, 
probably thought out by someone who didn't want a mailer. 
there's no shortage of OtherNets either, i'm in 10 (i think.. i've lost 
track by now ;) ) and they're all fido-style (i'm the local hub for about 3, 
and the canadian RC for one). And there's probably another 5 or 6 nets here i 
don't get, only because they're adult nets and i don't bother with them.
