You may be right, floppy may be using DOS as a loader. The only time I've
ever used them was when I hit a bug that wouldn't allow you to ID a drive
if you had an IDE CDrom (I forget the exact reason but it was only with one
motherboard I had).

But since I can boot the CD and install and no dos then does it really
require dos or is that just a cheat for floppy installs? I could probably
create a boot CD using dos as well but it's not required.
