1237cf19e0d9 tech Hello Roy - RJT>> It occurred to me on thinking over this a bit more that RJT>> having each package be responsible for checking on and RJT>> creating its own directories would be a *lot* more RJT>> complicated, and probably a real maintenance headache... CA>> Yup. I would leave the directories install put there CA>> myself. I might empty the ones for stuff I didn't want but CA>> I'd leave the directory. RJT> A little late for some of this stuff, but that's okay, I'm RJT> headed toward an upgraded install, anyhow. Been running RJT> Slack 8.1 for a while, and am about to head to 9... Is Slack v9 going to do anything you need done or is this just for bragging rights? Personally I prefer version x.1 or x.2 rather than x.0 versions. ;-) Seems each time you match the minimum hardware requirements for the distribution you already have you move to the next newest distribution that requires _more_ than you have (not to mention bloated sizes and your smaller than usual hard drives). The distributions released when your hardware was 'standard' are more logical (or one or two steps after that) I would think? > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
