Very true on the abuse.  However, I would think that a lot more understand 
the basic 10 codes, then would actually admit it .  As to getting laughed 
off the repeater, not likely.  The old pharts might laugh, but I don't let it 
bother me.  Not that I use the 10 code, except for the occasional (on 
purpose) 10-4 or somethin like that
