subject: Sending a key

Hi,
I use POV-Ray, and have created a program for it. This program renders
scenes, using POV-Ray, in a DOS window, in the background. What I want to
do is while POV-Ray is rendering, I want to send a key to the program.
This key will stop POV-Ray from rendering. If you don't follow, here it is
(not using POV-Ray).

Say you've launched a program using DosStartSession();, and the program is
a DOS, text-mode program, that's minimized, and running in the background.
While it's running, say you want to cancel what it's doing. So, you'd open
up the minimized session, and do it manually. However, my program will
display a message box at all time, say if you want to cancel whatever it's
doing, press the OK button.

So, is there any way to send a keystroke (any key) to a program, using
simple C functions (I'm not a pro at C++ or ASM), or is it better off for
me to close the session?

Anybody have a solution?
Thanks!
