 That's just it.  I want the modem - the one advertised.  Not 
 necessarily the one I recieved, although, as you pointed out,
 they could very well be the same modem in 6 months.  However,
 the upgrade offer ended at the end of November, so I really
 couldn't wait.
 What sort of service is that?  Valued customers can upgrade to
 a beta-release modem or they can wait and pay more like everyone
 else!!   What a deal!
 I was not aware of the 30 days, however, should I prove the modem
 to be defective, Zyxel will be obligated to repair or replace it
 with a working one, or give me my money back.  So I have 5 years,
 not 30 days.
 I'll likely keep the modem, but only because improved ROMs can be
 ftp'd from the internet.  If I were still waiting on Zyxel USA to
 release something newer than 1.09, I would have sent it back already.
