Yep, external unit.  And yes, it very well COULD have been a mistake, or it 
could have been something that was in just the release of the flash ROM that 
was in the modem when I got it, maybe for testing purposes, or what-have-you.
Anyway, did you (or anyone else), find out what at%? returns????
