Barbara, BH> I don't remember if I've already posted and bragged or not, but i Are you certain that you are from Texas? BH> checked the Yellow Crowned Amazon's eggs and at least two are fertile, BH> with three eggs so far. The Mex Redheads' eggs might be fertile, too BH> early to tell for sure yet. Will check in a few days. I am gonna try to Glad to see that things are moving along. So, far I am only feeding two baby Moustache. By the way, I have gathered a little more about the different subspecies. I will send a seperate message on that later. BH> enough. Also not easily accessible for feeding when breeding. They eat BH> me up. I still have a half dollar sized scar on my stomach where the OUCH!!! I know that hurt. I eliminate that problem by making holders out of wire and attaching them to the inside of the cage. I cut a hole in the top and put a door on the outside. I can slide everything in from the outside. BH> prior to his hen laying eggs. I am using cages that are about 4 1/2 ft BH> long right now for Amazons and two to three wide and about 3 1/2 high. A BH> couple pair are in 4 X 4 X 3 H cages. The smallest cage that I have for the Amazons is 3x3x8. BH> and the start on the Orange Winged amazons. Two pr have never been set BH> up and two pr are but need to be moved to bigger cages and I have BH> problems with the two males anyway. Can't move the MRH's or the Yellow BH> Crowns this year now anyway as they are breeding. I also need to move my BH> Severe minis to a new cage and get a cage ready for my baby (1 y/o) pr BH> of Red Bellied macaws that I kept back from last year. They are such It is a never ending job, isn't it. BH> Winters over --- out they go. I wish that winter were over...or at least consistent. I thought that I was doing something wrong because my Nape hen had problems with laying this year. She is a well experience breeder and shouldn't be having problems. Then I went to the bird club meeting the other night and Dr. Stiles refered to it being a problem in this area. With it 89 one day and 39 the next it has thrown the bird for a loop.
