Okay, I'm trying to be as literal as possible here.
Is your point that Jimmy Nicol appeared with the Beatles while Ringo was
recovering from tonsillitis and pharyngitis, but that Ringo was not at a
hospital in London when The Fabs + Jimmy - Ringo played their first gig
in Copenhagen on June 4?
Most of the U.S. and Canadian regional news articles I'm seeing about
Ringo's initial collapse are dated June 3. I'm finding it hard to
conceive of a timeline wherein on one single day (a) Ringo collapses
during a London photo session; (b) is taken to hospital for a diagnosis;
(c) Jimmy is suggested by George Martin; (d) Jimmy auditions and is
accepted; (e) story is reported and picked up worldwide by the
Associated Press, their friends and relations and is in print on the
same day.
IMHO this is a suspiciously compact chronology, but reporting was taken
more seriously in those days, and stranger things have happened.
Or are you looking for a more precise date for the hospital visit? Some
articles specify University Hospital in London was the site of the
diagnosis. Others (such as an AP report in the Oshkosh Daily
Northwestern for June 3) suggest: "A doctor said his first diagnosis was
acute laryngitis and tonsillitis. A spokesman for the Beatles said the
doctor thought Ringo, 23, should go to a hospital". So was the diagnosis
performed in clinical circumstances that could not be strictly described
as a hospital?
