I was at Carswell AFB, (Fort Worth, Texas) flying B-52s when
they were making the movie. We could not let General Stewart
into the alert barracks because his security clearence was not
current.. :)

We were already getting the F model B-52s in 1958. Call it
progaganda but 2200 B-47s supported by 650 B-52 is a bit
more than propaganda. The Strategic Air Command insured the
peace.

You should have watched History as well as discovery channel..
They are good but some of the editing is poor.. Such as seige guns
shooting at aircraft... Many little mistakes only seen by some
one that was there...
Take a trip down to Memmingen and see how much they will
let you see of the old Me-262 training and modification center..
