subject: Modem and Direct Screen Writes

Hi All!

I've got two questions about modem I/O and Direct screen writes. I had
gotten those to things to work under DOS, just when I decided to switch to
OS/2 programming, so now, my two questions are:

(First of all, I am using VAC++, so any examples, should be in C++ please...)

1) To write/read characters to/from an open port (such as doors do) how do
I do? It should be pretty easy, I shouldn't have to set any bit-registers
or baud-rate or whatever, read/write should be the only thing. So how du I
read/write from/to an open port using port-handles passes by an BBS (since
I can't access the port direktly, OS/2 wouldn't like that)

2) Direct screen writes... I can't get that to work either in OS/2. First
of all, how do I write to the memory at a specific location in OS/2 using
C++? And where "is" the screen in OS/2 (address that is)?

Any help is gr8ly apreciated, since I need to write a door for my BBS as
soon as possible.

Thanx!
