Mike Kenealy: Half alive in holywood. this is mike kenealy's band aka Beer
for Dolphins, mike kenealy at guitar, keys, vocals and a drummer and a
assist.
two cds, first one live at studio, captured live, not remixed,
the second one real live. nearly three hours of good fusion, i liked all
the instrument performances, the only drawback is that as it is live
mike kenealy plays either guitar or keys, mostly guitar, never both of them
(only for a short passage). It has got very funny moments, making me
remember that he was a Zappa sidesman.
French TV: After a lenghty silence
Virtue in futility
Intestinal fortitude
these are 2., 3. and 4. albums by French Tv. i would say that the second
and the third are interesting fusion albums with few vocals,
not hyper technical but imaginative.
the latest is the more interesting and varied. Half of it is excellent
original music a la RIO meets Canterbury. the other half consists of
a 15 minutes VDGG cover and 2 total waste of time.
Island: Pictures
A forgotten band from 70s between vdgg and canterbury. I liked at first,
but now find it kind of boring.
Land of Giant Dwarves
Phenomenal Zappaesque hyper upbeat funky fusion. They have a large lineup
of guitar, keys, bass, drums, sax, trumpet, clarinet, vocals. The music is very
complicated, i only wish they had a better vocalist.
Land of is more mature than killed and has lots of jam.
Soh band:No Problem at all
Think Red era King Crimson with John Zorn at sax and playing freer music.
Krauldjursanstalten: Voodoo Boogie
I'm sure that 99 percent of prog rock fans wont like this album but
i love it. It is guitar, bass, drums a three men lineup both three making
vocals. i dont know how to classify their music, but although it seems
simple at first, it is extremely complex music (not fusionlike) with lots
of jam. They remind me only of Watchtower.
... The future is only a way of talking, there is only now in time
