CB> Can you tell me if the ones from MKBBS still have the annoying 32k
 CB> buffer on Squish areas?

yes, i think they do... i just took a quick peek and see that a char buffer
of 34000 bytes is set up and in the writemsg routine, it appears to do a
blockwrite of that buffer...

since the full source code is there, you can "fix" that problem
yourself if you like... he does have the MKFFILE (buffered file object)
included and the *.MSG routines use it... as i don't use squish, i haven't
messed with it much but i would think that using the MSG object code as the
base, one could possibly incorporate the MKFFILE object into the squish
object... the JAM object has it built in and does not need the MKFFILE
stuff...

FWIW: the MKFFILE routines are buffered file routines that can be used for
any purpose... it has blkread, blkwrite, openfile, closefile, etc...
routines you use instead of the normal blockread, blockwrite, etc
routines... i know it works for JAM and *.MSG as i can create one message
containing the entire (wordwrapped) nodelist file -=B-)
