I don't think so. Consider the fact that I am sitting at the computer with
one phone at my ear (that I am calling from), the modem in front of me, and a
regular phone plugged into the back of the modem.
Also consider that I have a U1496 set up with CND turned on that I can switch
to almost immediately and can just quite well the difference between
nswering
on the first ring (like my U1496) and the amount of time it takes to ring
three
times - plus I can hear the calling and called telephones ring. I think
my tests are well controlled in this instance. The telephones act as
a control for the test.
These are undocumeneted 'features' in the ELite modems which should be fixed,
or documented (I don't care which, maybe there is a reason for it).
