It is actually someone else's machine, so I am not sure how long this has
been going on.  It seems like I can run CHKDSK, get errors, then run it
again, clean.  I can restart, get into XP a bit, do a few minor things,
restart with CD, run CHKDSK, and it finds more errors.
 
CHKDSK /R seems to fix the errors, but never tells me what they are (or
that it is fixing them).  /P reports finding one or more errors.  I
usually run /P first, then /R.  I was doing this because something
I read when I ran CHKDSK /? made me think this was the best way to do things.
