Wow, it's the Duke 3D music (and sound) man himself! I didn't think the
non-tech-support guys hung out here.
Gotta congratulate you on the excellent sound effects (and music, in some
cases) for Duke 3D. There's a lot of "oomph" to them. A few little things
though... for one, how come you don't hear the clatter of bullets after
you've fired your pistol or chaingun? And how come, if Duke is short of air
underwater, he doesn't gasp desperately when he returns to the surface?
Anyhow, great job.
I do have an interesting tech question for you though. Just today I was
trying to integrate some digital music into my level for effect, namely the
intermission music. How come I can never seem to get that (and the Duke
theme, for that matter) to work? Things like the "Born to be Wild" music
work.
I don't suppose you've seen my Duke 3D levels... my crowning achievement so
far is APWBONE2. You may want to check that out, and let the map designers
(like Allen Blum) check it out too. It would be wonderful to have my map
analyzed by the people who make the game it's for.
  Thanks...
PS It would be great to see a Duke 3D music CD, with the best tunes (like
the theme, the LA Rumble music, etc.). I'd listen to it any day.
