Hello, Wayne.
UPS came today with the modem. Here's jumper information, just for a
doublecheck, since you've probably seen them by now.
Looking at component side of card. Jumpers are near the lower right.
Group of 6 jumper pins sets COM Port. This is the group with " 0,1,
and SEL" stencilled below. Settings are stencilled on back of the card
-

COM 1 | | | (3 JUMPERS)

COM 2 | | (2 jumpers)

COM 3 | | (2 jumpers)

COM 4 | (1 jumper)

PnP (No Jumpers)

Just to the right, a group of 10 Pins for jumpering IRQ
o o o o o
Put a jumper from the pin above the desired
o o o o o IRQ to the pin above it.
2 3 4 5 7 (No Jumper = PnP)
This modem came jumpered PnP also. It doesn't have any MicronPC
Part number on it, but on the barcode sticker, number
67xxxxxxxxxxx Indicates that it is considered OEM - MicronPC
The USR website just links to MicronPC website, which we've already been
to.
ON re-visiting the usr.com website, I see that that 1.3MB Modem
Identification program is named MIU.EXE. Thinking back, I must've
renamed it to MODEMID.EXE when I downloaded it to my hard drive, so I
could remember what the heck its name was, when I went looking for it
again. (sorry if that caused you any confusion- - slipped my mind).
I probably won't have time to play with this modem until the weekend.

... Bother! said Pooh, as Winders didn't recognize his hardware.
