silver's more expensive than copper but as a raw material a few grams of it
will only cost about twice as many dollars...

They're charging big bucks because they can, quite possibly they're milking
a patent.

there was some sort of rubbery heatsink compound used  on the video chip (I
think) in Commodore 64s (or possinly some other home compputer of that era)
it looked like white silicone caulk.
