subject: the FTSC

I was talking to Tom Jennings the other day and I thought
I'd share what he had to say about the FTSC. It is by no
means anything official I guess, but it does is reflect
his view.

[start quote]

The job of the FTSC is only slightly ambiguous. The FTS docs
simply define FidoNet compatibility -- not the state of the
art. If your program implements FSC001, and 004 and all that,
*then* it is "FidoNet compatible". That's all their job is!
No less, and certainly no more. If developers want to add
features, they should do so, they dont need permission...

FidoNet is I think declining in size finally -- the only real
measure -- simply because the internet is so easy to get
connected to. All things change!
