subject: Courier vs Zoom CRCs & Disconnects

Hello All,
I have a USR Courier VEverything (recently upgraded to v.90 without a hitch -
and I was having the problems described below before the update) and am
having problems with a BBS downlink of mine using a V.34 Zoom. He's also
using an OS/2 mailer called Adept. Anyway, we connect fine and transfer
files fine. Except that he's having problems receiving larger files (greater
than around 70kb). We get a CRC error, it attempts a restart at 256 then
disconnects. And this can go on for a while with a 5mb file.
Notes: 1) He can transmit files of any size and no CRCs noted or disconnects.
       2) He can log on to my BBS with another program and download any file.
He still gets CRC errors but no disconnect.
       3) I can load a different mailer (I normally use a Win95 mailer
called BeeMail but have tried the DOS program InterMail) and have
the same results (CRC errors then disconnect)
       4) I can open my second mailer line, with a Hayes Optima V34, and the
file will be sent successfully. We'll get the CRC errors but his
Zoom is able to re-start the transfer with the Hayes.
How can I get my Courier to re-start transfers with the Zoom modem after CRC
errors? The Hayes can do it? And, if it's the modems how come he can log on
my BBS and it'll restart after CRCs? Odd.
Thanks for your suggestions,
                            John
