I have one similar machine at work: whenever it needs to beep, the beep
itself is delayed a few seconds so I can actually be in the middle of
something else, which is a bit confusing. The machine doesn't hang for the
pause, though, so I don't know if it's the same problem - and since mine
doesn't hang I haven't really paid much attention to it, but this system is
very slow in anything I do with it (it's something like 600Mhz PII I
think).
Strange.
