| subject: | Watcom to make PM apps |
DM> I tried Borland 1.5 for OS/2 for about 30 minutes. That's what DM> convinced me of going to Watcom. PC> I found and installed Borland's stack probe fix patch and my problems PC> are gone, so I'm sticking with Borland as long as I can work around the PC> bugs. Cheaper alternative, yup. ;-) OTOH, after working with Borland's Windows products, and seeing the dismal OS/2 product they were trying to pass off, I decided to quit with Borland on both platforms. I now use MS's Visual C++ 4.0 at work under NT, and Watcom C/C++ 10.6 for OS/2 at home. But that's just me. ;-) PC> If you're doing PM apps, Borland's Resource Workshop is very nice for PC> creating dialogs too. I haven't gotten into PM apps too much ... yet. :-) Right now I'm spoiled - I do all my graphical stuff at work with Delphi. RAD at its finest (so far). I haven't tried Watcom's Optima C++, however if they manage to come out with an OS/2 version, I will be amongst their first customers. :-) --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Tanktalus' Tower BBS (PVT) (1:342/708) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 625/100 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 SEEN-BY: 711/955 712/407 515 624 628 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 342/5015 61 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 934 |
