99.9% sure becuase you just changed it? Or, becuase you changed it about a
month ago.
If its the latter, spend the 99 cents and change the filter. Cheap effective
way to positively eliminate that aspect.
Frinstance, if you filled up your tank recently after the gas station got
their tanks filled, theres a pile of crap in suspension, your filter may be
sufficiently restricted to cause driveability problems.

Pull the fuel line from the carb and check fuel flow (with hose and suitable
catch container).
Have you pulled the distributor on this engine?  If its been re-inserted a
tooth out, that could cause you problems under load.
