Howdy! Roger,

RN> Yes. I like their breakfast, but they have gone up on its price twice

EV> Thanks for the Reply.
EV> I hardly ever eat breakfast away from home.
RN> If I could avoid that I would. We used to have a Shoneys here that had

Shoneys had a tough time in that part of town, the powers that be
could have opened a Shoneys in another neighborhood.
Around here Shoney's operated their own places and the Frisch's Big Boy
places too.
I said 'operatED' because I haven't been in a Frisch's or Shoney's for
years.

Last week I ate at Popeye's and ordered Red Beans and Rice.
It was O.K.
I survived to write to You about it.

When I was in the Service in Hong Kong, I was trying to eat with Chop Sticks
and the waiter took them out of my hand, and I thought He was going to
bring a Knife, Fork and Spoon to me, but He didn't.
IIRC
He wrapped a rubber band around the top of the Chop Sticks and put a
piece of a Toothpick between the Sticks about 3 1/2 inches down from the
top.
It left a gap at the eating end and let me pinch the sticks together to
hold some food.
IIRC
Chinese folks used the Chop Sticks to put some food in a small bowl,
and then held that bowl near their mouth and raked the food from the
bowl into their mouth.
Japanese folks used Chop Sticks to pick up some food and placed it in
their mouth.
EV> Pan Fried Oysters?
RN> No. Deep-fried.
EV> I like Oyster Soup and Rolled Oysters.
RN> I don't remember either, but it is possible I ate both at one time;
RN> especially the oyster soup. Not sure what rolled oysters are, but I
RN> doubt they originated from here.
Rolled Oysters have One Oyster placed inside of a fist sized bunch of
dough and then it is Deep Fried.
Is what I described the same method You called Deep-fried, earlier?

EV> Mister Gatti's Pizza has a Buffet, I told the owner my only

CiCi's closed their places here too.
EV> Taco TIco has some different item from what Taco Bell serves. The
EV> sauce at Taco Tico tastes better than Taco Bell has.
RN> We used to have Taco Bell/KFC in the same building here, but KFC
RN> disappeared very recently. Probably because their chicken pieces kept
RN> getting smaller and smaller.
Around here KFC places either have Taco Bell or Pizza Hut in the same store.
EV> At Taco Bell I more often order the 7-Layer Burrito and don't put
EV> any sauce on it. But I do use their Mild Sauce on some of the
EV> other items they sell.
EV> I will eat at either of those places depending on where I am.
RN> Where is that?
I meant either Taco Bell or Taco Tico.
EV> Taco Bell have many locations in this area, Taco Tico has one in
EV> Louisville, KY, and I know of another in Lexington, KY.
EV> P.S. I'm wondering if Ben Ritchey reads this echo.
EV> I'd like to know if He eats at Popeye's very often.
RN> I don't know the answer to that.
EV> If Ben doesn't read this echo I will ask Him in another echo that
EV> I've seen Him post in.
EV> You and Ben are the only people posting BBS Messages that I know of
EV> and just wanted to ask to see if the people in the State of
EV> Louisiana frequent Popeye's since Popeye's advertise they have the
EV> Taste of Louisiana.
RN> LOL! I wonder how they can back up that claim.
I mis-said that, on their Drink Cups it says "Louisiana Kitchen",
not anything about Taste.
When I write something 'off the top of Ed's Head' it isn't always
Gospel.
I do try to do the best I can, but Facts ARE Facts and I goofed, DUH.
RN> BTW, I'll probably put my BBS back up before the end of the year.
Ah, the care and feeding of a BBS.................
Good Luck.
... Have you checked your smoke detector batteries & Fire Ext, LATELY?!
