Hi Ron!
FT>Sounds like you're a republican.
RM> Frank, I'm getting seriously tired of this bs. If you can't
RM> carry on an intelligent conversation without resorting to
RM> the type of stereotypical rhetoric which you yourself would
RM> condemn if applied to any OTHER group, then push on... This
RM> is off-topic, and you've been repeatedly reminded about it.
RM> There's no excuse for any continuation. If it happens again,
I believe I was in conversation with another individual who didn't take
the statement as anything but an observation. It wasn't meant to be
any stronger than that. ...at any rate your intrusion is a bit rude
to say the least. I've noticed several well-reasoned comments spun
off that paragraph and the ones surrounding in related discussion.
RM> I'm going to ask Sheila to impose a complete boycott of ANY
RM> conversation with you by ALL participants. I know trying to
RM> shut you out is pointless, as you don't believe that rules
RM> should apply to you, but we can sure as Hell enforce a
RM> total boycott of you. You can participate or agitate, but
RM> you can't do both!
...getting a bit petty aren't you Ron?
If it was you sending an e-mail to Sheila that she forwarded to me
with your name removed how about having the courage to give her
permission to forward it identifying you next time. I'd have a great
deal more respect for the individual making the complaint if they
were willing to be more "on the table".
I've always thought of netmail as a cowardly and underhanded way
to handle problems anyway. Take that for what it's worth.
Some of the people I've been communicating with have appreaiated
a lively discussion and we seem to share some degree of mutual
respect for each other as communicators.
I'd like to remind you that perhaps OS/2 has advanced to the state
where a twit filter can be obtained for it. ...if not maybe then
a simple (K)ill, (N)ext, (D)elete or (G)oodby would be appropriate.
With all of those options available do you really believe that
censorship is a mature choice for a legitimate education conference?
Unless blatently off-topic I don't. Education has always held
free speech to be especially precious. Sheila said the post was
semi-offensive -- I'd agree.
If you want an echo for employed educators to discuss seating charts
and methodoligy you have two options -- Capitalist and Socialist.
The Socialist has the government pay for it. The Capitalist has
the guts to lay down his own dime.
I don't how the E-List ever got worded to say this is an echo for
educators only. That was discussed and settled years ago.
It's not.
You are accepting the generosity of a hobbyist system which should
make you think it's an echo for general discussion of education issues
by all. If you think you need more of a cloakroom enhancement device
then don't be shy about it, that's a commercial purpose -- pay for it
on a commercial system. ...hell, go start your own net for all I care,
but if you'd avoid intruding in discussion that wasn't directed to
you nor your help asked for by others I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks,
-frank:)
