`-> Personally, I don't see the point in building a competition quality
-> (or any quality for that matter) stereo if you're not going to ENJOY
-> it. Though there is a Bronco around these parts with I believe 24
-> (!!!) 12" woofers in here that's used only for competition.  That's
-> really rediculous, IMO.
It really is amazing sometimes how dumb people could be. Without specs
on the Bronco, I can't be sure, but I would be AMAZED if 4 12"s in
2 HVCD enclosures didn't blow away the Bronco. The problem with having
so many woofers, is that it's highly doubtful that these people are
putting in high quality equipment (and can afford it). Not only that,
it's doubtful that they can make an enclosure big enough for 24 12"s
that's properly sized and actually fit it in a Bronco.
You're also right about getting decent stuff at low cost. My friend
picked up a JBL (GT series? QTI? I forget) 200wrms*2 for $200.
It's a sweet amp for the price (even the normal $350 price) I've also
met a guy who had 2 12" URBANS!!! in his car and actually WON 3RD PLACE
at an IASCA competition. (And no, the competition wasn't that small.
I'd guess there were about 40 competitors he was up against). Of
course, he had about 400lbs of sound deadening material in the car, good
placement, and everything set up correctly.
