As a nodelist clerk, you should know better.  It was your job to
verify the information submitted on the application for membership.
However, I will agree with you that it is a meaningless endeavor.
Nobody should have to apply for membership in fidonet.  How silly.
Either an individual passes the "sniff" test, or an individual
fails the "sniff" test.  Those who pass are in.  Those who fail
remain out.

What is the "sniff" test?  The ability to run an FTS-0001 compliant
mailer during Zone Mail Hour.  That's it.  Nothing more.
