BG>>> These line levels are positively ATROCIOUS! RS>> You can say that again, shit they look fucking awful when shown on RS>> a graph with Russ's levels when calling Paul. No wonder you alone RS>> got so much trouble when calling the Spirit with various Sportsters. BG>>> And now for David's stats... Note the BG>>> immense difference between his and yours? RS>> Yeah, but its ALSO very interesting comparing the numbers Russ got RS>> when calling both Dave and you. It seems pretty clear that your line is RS>> pretty indifferent, Pauls line is pretty indifferent, and when you have RS>> that at BOTH ends of a particular session the result is rather obscene. RS>> And also interesting how useful these flash new line stats can be. RB>> I'm only glad that I can make some contribution towards you " RB>> Painting the big picture " for us. RS> Yeah, your results were a hell of any eye opener, particularly the RS> freq response on the calls to the bulldog. Can you find out exactly RS> what phone exchange technology that FNQ line is using ? Particularly It should not be too hard to talk to one of the blokes in the exchange here I will do that this week, I am out of here on the 9th (Sat) but this is a must before I go back to Bris. RS> when people like Dave Hatch are getting real problems with what is RS> supposed to be modern digital exchange technology now, it would be RS> interesting to compare which ones use which exchange technology. I rang Dave H last night (connected at 31200) and was half way through Uploading a file (333K) to him when the cps started diving, It got down to 709cps then aborted. I am sure it was that trouble he was talking about, before. And I probably just hit in between the times he said it happens. Though it could have been a mix of his problem and my line noise. No problems with him this morning (connect and upload at 33600) RS> Presumably atleast part of Dave Drummonds immaculate line RS> is just because he is so close to the exchange itself. Well I could almost spit at the exchange from here as well. RS> Are you still hearing the audible imperfections on your FNQ line RS> on voice calls ? Interesting how V34 can handle them so well. YES, gets very bad some times. RS> Hell of an eye opener how useful the USR stats can be, its RS> essentially a full bit of line test equipment auto on every call. You can't say that I'm sorry I bought this Courier, The only thing I don't like is connecting at 26400 around Brisbane to some Rockwell stuff, Though I am now confinced it is all to do with the line there (and not the modems) Why else do I get 28800 to an old VFC maestro at Strathpine, (Yes Paul, the one that I have to use S27=48 on.. otherwise it answers & hangs up immediately) everytime from up here and only ever a solid 26400 from Bris. Same settings and machines, just different lines. Russell --- Terminate 3.00/Pro* Origin: Electron Migration (3:640/305.55) SEEN-BY: 640/305 450 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
