I have been working for some MONTHS to hook my varied machines together and
make them useful. Finally, I have been successful. I am running a 486-75
with OS2 WARP 4, three 486-33 machines with WFW3.11 and two 286 machines with
MS Workgroups for DOS. I have finally gotten the machines to all talk
together and work really well. One of the hardest things to do is to get the
286 things setup so that there is enough memory left for anything to run.
Caldera has a DOS known as OPEN DOS that actually has a 286 memory manager
and this has helped a lot. No one else gives a damn if 286 computers ever
work again but they do! Honestly, sometimes the 286 guys are all that
consistently work! Anyway, if anyone else out there in ciberland has any
interest in doing this I will write you a book. You won't get any help on
this from IBM or MS.
