That sounds like a reasonable explanation, but seems a bit of a "third
wheel" on top of PNP, with the option of setting the jumpers
already there.  But he does (or did) need to run either the DOS or
the Windows based EXE program in order to Flash it to V.90 from X2.

Yes, that's the way it arrived here, and that's the way I shipped it to
him - jumpered for PnP.

Yes.  One group of jumpers requires a single jumper to set the IRQ and
another group with multi-choices sets the COMport.  As soon as he can
see them, it should be smooth sailing.
