Off the subject, but speaking of 3COM...

My dealer has been fighting with three new ASUS MBs with 3COM built-in.  He
can only get 10Mbit network speed.  Disable the onboard 3COM and plug in a
generic $7 NIC and he's back up to 1Gbit!

If I hadn't hid my hammer I think he would already have "fixed"
those boards...   :-((

The language he uses to describe 3COM can't be repeated here...
