Well.. power and quality are really mutually exclusive with in-deck amps, 
truth be told.  My Alpine CD player claims 50x4 from the internals, and 
pounds pretty well into a pair of JBL T-60s, but I wouldn't necessarily call 
it CLEAN.

Yep.  Icky.  Some will give two separate numbers -- minimum THD at some low 
output, and maximum output, but without a corresponding THD rating (some will 
push a good 10% THD or more at their "rated maximum output", whereas the 
lowest THD occurs at significantly lower output).
