You have some good points there...

OTOH, I was sitting here last night, about 12:20 or so, and the power
went away and stayed that way for a minute or two. I saw one
"flicker" of partial power for a second, just enough for me to
know it was happening, and then a little bit after that it came back.
Best I can figure is that they were working on stuff, and transferred our
feed to somewhere else other than where it had been.

I got to sit here watching three computers doing memory test stuff all at once. :-(

As it turned out, I was sitting here and in those cases where I had to do
stuff I could do so, though I actually spent more time fixing clocks than
anything else. But if that hadn't been the case, I sure would have wanted
those computers to be back on and running when the power came back,
particularly the one for the bbs. (I get some callers at some really odd
hours here. :-)

As I said in an earlier post, I like to have the choice as to how it's
going to act. Do you know if this is the case with most newer hardware?
