THat's basically where I"m going with this. Want to be able to use my
dos box in the radio room for all its other chores, even if bbs has to be
elsewhere.
Plan is this: Machine connected to dsl doing all the network and firewall
stuff. SEcond machine, a linux box which will once in awhile transfer audio
from outboard devices. A won98 box which can do other jobs. LInux box will
get business web site most likely. Been told no way to put this dos 6.22
box on such a network, but I"m sure there has to be.
I'm an audio production guy who knows just enough about the intricacies of
this stuff to be dangerous, hence trying to pick some brains about how to
get there from here.
even if the bbs and mailer can't run on the dos machine, if I can continue
to use it and access the rest of the net via this box it would be much
preferred as I really like my dos screen reader better than about any other
I've found.
TO clarify further, As
well as bbs we'd be locally hosting our business web site and our own email accounts.
Regards,
Richard
