David Mason mentioned this to All:

DM> please tell me the main advantages over Delphi v2 pro?
- Support for creating ActiveX controls and forms.
- Transparent TImages, buttons, and toolbars
- The ability for 3rd party vendors to seamlessly create database engines
that don't require the BDE.
- Major code editor enhancements
- Packages (these offer many benefits, including the ability to assign
component palette controls to a specific project)
- Lots of new controls
- Improved documentation, both hardcopy and online
- Built in application version info
- Can place DCUs in a different directory
- Can specify a different application file extension
Plus much more. It's a no-brainer. The only thing to watch for is if you
are using 3rd party components with no source. In that case, you will have
to make sure your vendor will be providing D3 compatible object code.
