subject: dup upload messages

DH:>I could use a little help. I am a new Qmodem Pro for DOS user.
DH:>I download my BBS echo messages using the OLX offline reader.
DH:>While offline, and when I come across an interesting message I want to
DH:>forward to a friend on the same BBS, I use the forward message command
DH:>while still in that message. This forwards that message to the \upload
DH:>*.rep packet.
DH:>Then I dial and connect again to my BBS and upload the reply packet
DH:>containing the message I want to forward. When the BBS unpacks and
DH:>verifies the message, it shows that two or three duplicates were
DH:>created! Has anyone else ran into this? I hate to send so much clutter
DH:>to my friends email box and onto the BBS.
DH:>Any suggestions?
You don't have to worry bout a thing, the mail system on the bbs just
trashes your duplicates. Why are you trying to forward mail to someone
on the same bbs??? Does he not also get the same mail you do??? If he's
not downloading it, he most likely reads mail online like some others do
who are not used to reading offline or don't have a utility yet to do
this. If you want to forward a message, put it in a different conference
(look at where the reply to person is and just below that it shows
conference) but gotta warn ya, most conferences don't allow forwarding
of messages from another conference unless you have the moderator of
that conference's permission to do so (not to mention the cost to sysops
carrying you're duplicate message when it wasn't necessary). If your
friend doesn't read that conference, just send him a new message in
another conference and tell him to check out message dated ******* in
the ******** conference by ******* (but probably not necessary as he
should be reading it too).
