Greetings Jonathan,
JM>sure, no worries but the original question was asked about a tandberg
tdc3800,
  >i susspect its would be a 3820 actually.
Finally, a meaningful reply! Yes, this is really a 3820, also now
known as SLR2...I made a typographical error.
JM>if arcadia supports the aspi interface then it should support the TANDBERG
TDC
  >3800 seris.
Allegedly it does but documentation is kind of sparse...
JM>but then thier is alway gtak and now thier is a rexx dervice graphical
  >interface to gtak thak mkes it a breeze to use, the author uses a tandberg
  >(several actuall) as well as native adaptec scsi host support. also gtak

I downloaded and tried running Gtak on my Warp 3, Fixpak 26 system and
it would not work. When I tried to use the SCSITAPE.SYS driver I would
get a "processing error" while booting. The SCSTAPE.DMD driver would
install but Gtak would not recognize the drive. According to the docs
with Gtak the SCSITAPE.DMD was written for OS/2 2.0 and may not work
with Warp...obviously not on my system.
Hmm...just had a brilliant thought...I could try installing Gtak in my
Maintenance Partition as that setup uses no fixpaks . I
did try running Arcada/Seagate backup in that basic install level Warp
3 setup to no avail.
JM>most of the problems with support for the tandberg range is that they are
seen
  >as the 'professional back solution' tanberg has a reputation nd is used
  >commecially .. thier home user market place penetration is miminal to say
the
Ahh...did not realize that. Actually, even though this is a Tandberg
unit it came in a Colorado box with Colorado backup software for
DOS/Win3.x and documentation for the unit.
Thanks,
Greg
