Hi, Sandra!
I just saw your quote to Lisa Penner about AV, we call them Cape Violets. I
can fully agree with your writings.
If I'm not wrong, you're living in Canada, where the climat is still cooler
than here in Belgium.
AV really don't like too hot sun, mine are on a little table, close to a
window on the south-east, where they don't get direct sun, but enough light,
even in winter. Another one, on the kitchen-window at north-east side, is
also doing very fin. They are all regularly making flowers.
About the trick of taking the pots up to 'feel' if they are still wet or not,
I must confirm that I use it also and certainly for my subtropical
containerplants overwintering in the greenhouse.
It seems we'll have here a rather early Spring, because many containerplants
and also several plants in the garden, are slowly making leaves, so we may
hope that there will be no real hard frostperiods. The best should be if we
won't have no more frost till next Fall/Winther..
Wish you also an early Spring.
Greetings
Maria
