PE> That's absolute crap.
RS> I'm not convinced. I think you might well find that an
RS> M34F at BOTH Bills and your end would be pretty bad too.
Yes, that MIGHT happen. But just like I was saying that the
problems with my Spirit II that Bill was seeing could be because
of bad phone lines, I would not be convinced because I hadn't
seen the phone lines be scientifically eliminated by controlled
experiment, you CANNOT make the claims about USR YET. As I said
to Bill in another message, replace the Sportster with an M34F,
and if he gets 50+% failure rates, the statement will be true.
Until then it is "don't know". You can postulate a bit about it,
but that's all it is, postulation, in order to put a %
likelihood on it.
PE> Put a Netcomm M34F on your end. THAT is the test of whether USR is
PE> superior at handling noisy lines. Can you borrow one from someone?
RS> Yeah, it would be interesting to try. I dont expect to be surprised tho.
So what odds will you give me that an M34F on Bill's line will have
50+% session negotiation failures? I know this is simply a matter
of what YOU think the chances are, not what the likelihood really is,
but it would be intesting to see your stab-in-the-dark anyway. I'll
give you mine after I see the odds both you and Bill are giving me.
BFN. Paul.
