-=> Quoting Phil Crown to James Laine <=- JL> I have recently purchased Watcom C/C++ v10.6, and am quite pleased JL> with the versatility and numerous libraries. What I don't like about JL> it is the mannor in which the help files are organised. Books would be JL> much better, but Watcom does not include them in the release; They JL> cost extra. PC> Aren't the help files standard OS/2 .INF files? Yes they are. Unfortunately, OS/2 .INF files, and any other on-line help files I have ever seen, do not think the same way I do. When searching for something, I prety much need to know where to look beforehand. There is no way (that I know of) to search for items based on an idea, only a key word (which ends up missing some things, especially if you have poor spelling). Any on-line help files which I have ever seen, do not have sufficient search restrictions for filters such as boolean opperators, or information type (such as technical reference, or general instruction). But hey, the help files do contain a heck of a lot of good information! --- Blue Wave/OS2 v2.30 [NR]* Origin: Surrounded By Cows (1:134/65) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 625/100 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 SEEN-BY: 711/955 712/407 515 624 628 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 134/65 17 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 934 |
