Overall, I think the answer is yes.  While I often long to have the old 
interface back, the new one would be OK if it would KEEP the changes I 
make to toolbars for more than a few hours.

Beyond that, it is faster, more reliable, has a number of added and 
improved features, and finally clearly superior to Word 97 IMHO.

I'd forgotten about that possibility.  I'll have to find out whether
anyone's done any spell checking when a problem's reported.
