Hi! Alan,
Once upon a time, Alan Zisman whispered to All:
AZ> I'm having problems installing 1 meg ISA video cards into a number of
AZ> Win 3.1 machines in order to get more than 256 colours (at 640x480).
AZ> I've tried a pair of Trident 8900 cards: an 8900C and an 8900D card,
AZ> trying both cards in a variety of machines, and using the most recent
AZ> Trident drivers I could find on the Internet... in all cases, I end up
AZ> with odd colour substitutions... basically, a mix of pastels.

 AZ> All help appreciated!
Well, you asked for it. :)
I have a Trident 8900CL-B sitting in a drawer, that's been a real dog over
he
last 4 years. I found it best to use the generic SVGA drivers in Win/WFWG
3.xx and Win95, although, on the particular hardware mix at the time, the
Win95 set could _not_ handle 800x600x256 resolution, whilst the WFWG 3.11
generic driver(s) could.
Do you have the "User's Guide" booklet? I.e., if the monitor can scan at
48.7KHz, then remove the J7 jumper for extended VGA modes.
Cheers,
Paul.
