I have so much 'stuff', (paint, stencils, yarn, ribbons, patterns,
crayons, canvas, etc.), it would be almost impossible to find anything
if I boxed it up and moved. It would take me weeks to pack and weeks
to unpack. I have so many 'collections' I've long lost count. But
when I was growing up, I didn't live in the same place for more than
two years. We moved back and forth across the country, from Air Force
base to base. I didn't know that people could live just in one place
all the time. To stay in just one town all your life sounded dreadful
to me, like a prison sentence. We didn't place a high value or
priority to physical objects, because they could get lost or damaged in
the next move. Being with our family was the most important thing we
had. We learned to make friends very quickly, by treating everyone as
a friend until they proved otherwise, and knew from the start that we
would be parted soon. Life was full of adventure and learning. It was
a rich lifestyle, one I would wish everyone could have.
