Hi! Preston,
Once upon a time, Jerry Schwartz whispered to Preston Halcomb:
JS>> The standard ones in WIN.INI are used by the common dialog box
JS>> routines which come with Windows; they'll ignore any other entries you
JS>> make.
JS>> There are add-ons such as Icon-Doit which add sounds to other events.
PH> Any idea where I can get something like that?
JS> You might try the remainder tables at software stores; there isn't
JS> much trade in Win3.x software otherwise.
The very best addon for Win 3.x, and one that adds a myriad of .WAV sound
events, is IBM's Workplace Shell. It replaces ProgMan with a OS/2 Warp 3.0
look-a-like desktop which can be a real joy to work with. I've had at least
PC running it here over the last 2-3 years.
Where to find it? Well, the best I can come up with is from the TXT file
listing for IBM BBSs in the archive:
Kentucky
502-375-2851 (Louisville) The Dark Side of the Moon BBS
502-942-0089 (Ft. Knox) The Homefront BBS
502-943-0023 (Ft. Knox) The Scrap Yard BBS
The latest archive I have is named WPSFW151.ZIP (October '95 release), so
ook
for a similar one on a BBS near you. Did I mention already that it's *free*?
:-)
Cheers,
Paul.
... This tagline vibrates if you rub it the right way.
