subject: Automobile Batteries

-> My biggest gripe about delco is that they're sealed. Sometimes a hydrometer is
-> a handy thing to have, to know what's going on in ways that are a bit more
-> difficult by other means.

That is a problem. Particualrly if you are in a Super hot Deseret area.
Despite all the Hype over the "ASealed" batteries they loose water.

-> TW> Now with the newer dependable vehicles I just go with the
->  TW> Cheapest.

-> You probably don't tend to keep stuff as long as I do, or mess with stuff
-> that's as old as I've tended to run.

Fortunatly as my abilities for Automobile Repairs Declined my situation
improved enough that I didn't have to drive older very high Miledge
cars.

-> TW> And as I recal lthere are very few actual Battery manfacturers but
->  TW> many Brand Labels.

-> Sure. But the mfr ain't the one that's gonna handle the warranty, it's the
-> retailer, That's why I made my choice.

 True. And my leaning toward Wal-Mart Batteries reflects that. But
in hte old days when I bought a battery I concided it a gamble. For many
years when my budget was Tighter I bought nothing but Used Batteries. I
had a streak of Good Luck and only had one fail in service.
