OK. Thanks to all the messages about the NULL modem cable. I got it working
but have someone else......

Again..my setup...
A4000/040
GVP ports, and in this case, internal serial port.

IBM DX4-100.

If i connect my null to my GVP board, i can read text and download without
any hassles.

If i use Amigas Internal Serial port i can download without a single
hassle, but getting actual text (EG viewing files) on the screen will cause
frequent pausing for up to 30 seconds before resuming.

The CPU can't be freezing up as i can still use the A4000 if i wish and it
is strange that it only happens with text and not when i'm downloading

It is definately the Amiga end, as it happens no matter what computer is
connected to the serial port and no matter what speed i set the port to. It
is currently on 38400, but it will happen at 19200.

I use the 8n1.device. Baudbandit is currently bringing up shareware
messages and i don't think i can use the standard serial.device as any
calls to the serial.device are rerouted to the GVP boards.
