We ran netsh to save our settings on an XP box:

netsh -c interface dump >c:\abc.txt

and then tried to restore with

netsh -f c:\abc.txt

netsh complained:

  'register' is not a valid argument for this command

But it actually did the change.

It complained on an add dns command where the argument at the end is register=PRIMARY
and so why did netsh generate something that netsh complains about?
