subject: Uniden Trunk Tracker

RD> I have heard that Uniden has a new scanner called the Trunk Tracker,
RD> that will follow trunked radio systems. Has anyone heard any information
RD> about this new scanner?
Yes.
RD> Who sells them?
Almost anyone that sells scanners WILL be selling them, soon.
RD> Is anyone out there currently using one?
Only beta testers and reviewers.
RD> How many channels does it have?
10 banks. Each bank can scan one trunked system up to 30 freqs, or up to 30
normal scanner channels. Only ONE trunked system can be scanned at one time,
but multiple banks can be scanned if the same system, or multiple banks of
conventional channels.
RD> What information is needed to program it?
Very little. It finds talkgroups by itself, but you'll then need to figure
out WHAT each talkgroup is, and remember the 'code' since the HT model (the
BC235) won't have an alpha display. The 895 will, but won't be out til later
this year.
RD> How much do they cost?
About $300 give or take a bit.
... Where will YOU be during the "BIG ONE"?
